general wards

  • Shared Rooms: Patients typically share a room with multiple beds, with some hospitals also offering semi-private or private rooms for additional comfort.
  • Multidisciplinary Staff:General wards are staffed by a team of professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, all of whom provide essential care and support.
  • Basic Facilities:While not as specialized as intensive care units, general wards have basic medical equipment, such as beds, bedside tables, and call systems.
  • Continuum of Care:General wards bridge the gap between acute care settings and specialized units, providing a space for patients to recover, stabilize, and receive ongoing care.
  • Patient Needs:The care provided in general wards caters to a variety of patient needs, including diagnosis, age, comfort, and other relevant factors.

private wards

  • Single Occupancy: Each room is intended for one patient.
  • Privacy and Comfort: Private wards provide a more secluded environment and enhanced comfort.
  • Additional Amenities: Often include private bathrooms, TVs, and sometimes more personalized services.
  • Room Supplement: The cost of a private ward is typically an additional charge, not included in standard hospital insurance plans.
  • Patient Choice: Patients can usually choose to have a private room, but it's important to check with their insurance company about coverage.

  3. Surgical Ward: Patients recovering from surgery are often placed in this ward for post-operative care.
  4. Medical Ward: This area is for patients who are admitted for medical conditions that do not require surgery.
  5. Oncology Ward: Dedicated to patients undergoing treatment for cancer, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
  6. Psychiatric Ward: This ward provides care for patients with mental health disorders.
